Answers:

Concert Pitch

The answers to the Perfect Pitch test are shown in CONCERT PITCH, which means that the answers will match the tones on any instrument pitched in C, such as a properly tuned piano or guitar.

If you are a keyboardist, guitarist, vocalist, or play any instrument that is pitched like a piano, view your answers on the previous page.

Otherwise:

If you play an instrument that is pitched in another key (such as a B flat trumpet), you will naturally hear the answers as different notes (see below). THIS IS PERFECTLY CORRECT.

Brief explanation of Perfect Pitch ear training on instruments that are pitched in keys other than C:

Remember, Perfect Pitch does not depend on what you CALL a note! With Perfect Pitch, what matters is that you learn to IDENTIFY the note by ear, regardless of what you call that note on your instrument. It is your PERCEPTION of "pitch color" that needs to be cultured; how you label that tone will depend on the instrument you play. Different instruments may call a pitch differently, that is all perfectly natural and correct. You will learn the full explanation of how Perfect Pitch works with all instruments on David Lucas Burge's Perfect Pitch Ear Training SuperCourse, which is fully compatible for use by ALL musicians of ALL instruments, regardless of how your instrument is pitched. So, if your instrument is pitched in a key other than "concert pitch," take heart we've got you fully covered! For 30 years, Burge's students have included musicians of ALL INSTRUMENTS (including brass, woodwinds, strings, etc.). With Burge's Perfect Pitch Ear Training SuperCourse, you will learn how to hear the color of the pitch on YOUR OWN instrument. The sooner you start, the sooner you will hear it for yourself — on your OWN INSTRUMENT.
